Let’s Talk About Movie #5 : Drawing Closer

 

Watch this movie if you wanna cry that bad. There’s a lot of things happened in this movie. About family, friendship, and actually all of those is about love. And all of them captured in a beautiful way. Also I think, there is something different in the Japanese angst movie. The color grading was built different, ironically pretty.

First, let’s talk about how beautiful unconditional family’s love in it. Akito Hayasaka and his family. It’s warm to see. Supportive. Akito is really talented in drawing and of course his family supporting him. Unfortunately, he got tumor and the doctor said that he only has one year left to live. And yup, his family always there to supporting him, cheering him, and also doing the best they can for his treatment.

Then, it’s about friendship. I love how deep the “friendship” described in this movie. Everything was described in a beautiful (and tragic) way. That the most heartbreaking thing is losing touch with our best friend.

This one is garbarea bouquet. Giving someone a bouquet of exactly three garbarea is a romantic floral gesture that means "I love you”. And Ayaka Miura gave one to each of her two favorite people, her best friend, Haruna Sakurai, and Akito Hayasaka, the person she secretly liked.
