Let’s Talk about Movie #3 : Even If This Love Disappears From The World Tonight
This is actually a very warm and soothing movie, with less drama or annoying characters. Also from the title of this movie, we can already know that this movie is going to make us cry our hearts out. It starts with scenes of the girl struggling with her illness, about losing of her memories after a past accident. From that day on, every time she wakes up, she remembers nothing from the day before.
Like, imagine waking up in the morning with nothing in your mind, no memories of what you did or what you felt. At first, it sounds nice, not remembering bad days, painful experiences, or how badly people treated us. But it quickly turns into something much worse, because it also means not remembering the moments you shared with the people you love.
Maori Hino, a girl with ‘memory’ disorder, one day meets with Toru Kamiya, a boy who makes her remember a ‘feeling’ without needing to ‘store’ it as a core memory in her head. It called “LOVE”. That’s what I like about love stories like this one. Classic, yet deeply touching.
I love about the fact that no matter how many times she forgets about everything, including him, she still falls in love with him over and over again. Anyway, overall, the story in this movie is as beautiful as its title, “Even If This Love Disappears From The World Tonight”. Yeah, because the next day when she wakes up, even with zero memory of yesterday, she will still fall in love with him again and again.
